Cookie Alarm

I would never had thought about it, of course most pages use cookies, my pages use cookies. Sometimes to my advantage and sometimes just to spy on me. But the expression some of my clients have on their face when I mention Cookies showed me there is a lot of misunderstanding about them and their usage.

Cookies on Pages help you and they track you. That is the time we live in one gives up on one’s privacy for some convenience. If I visit my favorite Webshops I do not want to get offered products I either already bought or I have no interest in. That is what cookies is for as well.

The EU is having some ideas about how people visiting a page have to be informed and some countries have some ideas how to interpret this. To be on the safe site, I suggest some advice from a lawyer for media law. If you have a webshop or just for safety reasons, there are a few plugins to make the cookie disclaimer easy for you – I suggest: Cookie Law Info oder EU Cookie Law.

On the other hand, if you are a visitor from a web page and don’t want to be tracked I highly recommend  the use of an ad-blocker and „Ghostery“ an amazing Browser extension available for most browser.

I guess you are like me, you want to decide who tracks you when – I suppose you should give it a try. As you can see you can easily decide and switch off the trackers or whitelist pages.
